The Reed Rewind: Dana & Marcus's Silver Anniversary Trivia

Assumptions: 6 table teams of about 7–8 guests, a host reading aloud with a mic, written answers, and Dana and Marcus not competing. 26 questions run about 35 minutes including setup, stories, and scoring.

How to Play

  • Teams: Each of the 6 tables is one team. Each team picks a fun team name and one "scribe" to write answers.
  • Materials: One printed Player Answer Sheet per table, a few pens per table, and one Scorecard for the host (or a helper).
  • Timing: The host reads each question twice. Teams get about 30 seconds for multiple choice and true/false, and up to 1 minute for the others.
  • Scoring: Most questions are worth 1 point. Question 13 is worth 2 points (1 for each part). Question 24 is the Golden Question and is worth double (2 points).
  • Couple Says round: Teams write "Dana" or "Marcus" to predict how the couple will answer. A correct prediction earns 1 point. If Dana and Marcus can't agree, every team gets the point.
  • Collecting answers: After each round, tables swap sheets with the table to their left for grading. Then the host reads the answers.
  • The couple's role: Dana and Marcus don't play. They confirm each answer and tell the quick story behind it. Their ruling on any disputed answer is final.
  • Winning: Highest total wins. If there's a tie, use the Tiebreaker.

Host Script

Welcome (read aloud):

"Good evening, everyone! Twenty-five years ago, on a very rainy day in June, Dana and Marcus said 'I do.' Tonight, we're finding out who in this room really knows their love story. Every table is a team, so pick a team name, choose someone with good handwriting, and grab a pen. I'll read each question twice. Write your answers on your sheet. No phones, and no asking the happy couple! Dana and Marcus are our official judges tonight, and they'll share the stories behind the answers. Their word is final. Ready? Let's roll, and you'll soon see why that's a hint!"

Round intros:

  • Round 1: "Round One: How It Started. Let's go back to Toledo in 1999, where a bowling ball changed everything!"

  • Round 3: "Round Three: Life Together. Apartments, puppies, kids, chili, and one very tough minivan."
  • Round 4: "Round Four: Couple Says! There's no answer key here. Predict what Dana and Marcus will say, and then they'll answer live."
